Genealogical Sight-seeing

Monday, July 31st, 2006

The first half of last week we took a brief trip to Chattanooga, TN. We stayed about a mile or so from the Chickamauga National Military Park and got to do a bit of looking there. My main interest in it was that several of my ancestors were in the 60th NC Infantry which was […]

New Photos Section

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

I’ve added a new photos section which will go along with the “Families I’m researching” category. I hope to start uploading some pictures of some of the families I’ve worked on before too long and that category will be the place to find them. I’ll try to tag/label things fairly well, so that it can […]

Webring headaches….

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I don’t know maybe it’s nostalgia that keeps me liking the concept of webrings. Relevant sites linking to each other…. but it’s been a headache recently. I’ve been suspended/in and out of several rings for “failure to have the code” on the main page. Which, of course, is not true, I HAVE had the code […]

I’ve also removed the […]

60th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

This date marks the begin of the sudden collapse and surrender of Japan in World War II. On August 6, 1945 an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima Japan. Two days later, the U.S.S.R. declared war on Japan and invaded Japanese controlled Manchuria, then on August 9th another atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. Finally, […]

Several More county updates

Friday, August 5th, 2005

I’m continuing to push on in the revision of county information. I think I’m in the downhill stretch…. Iredell, Jackson, Johnston, and Jones Counties all saw updates this afternoon. So you should be able to find a bit more detailed info now on their respective pages.
