The French and Indian War (1754-1763)

by Avery J. Parker

The name French and Indian War is really a misnomer. The war was fought between the United Kingdom and France, the Indians allied themselves with the French and the colonies fought alongside the British.

Most of the action took place near the colonies bordering on Indian territory in the Northeast.

If one of your ancestors was born between 1704 and 1748 it might be worth looking to see if they were involved in the French and Indian War.
