: I have a family of Fosters who lived in Pasquotank County, NC (Union District) in 1810 -- they were John W. Foster, Sr., his wife (name unknown) and his son, John W., Jr. John W. Sr. was working as an overseer on a plantation in NC when John was a baby (1808-1810) and was killed during a negro uprising. How can I find out more information about my John W.? How can I find out of John's wife remarried? Would this event have been covered in a local newspaper, and are local newspapers available? Many thanks for any assistance!

My Great grandfather is a "John Wesley Foster" that migrated
from Leicester, NC (outside Asheville)
to Spartanburg County, SC in the
late 1800's-early 1900's. Could this be the
same?

Sincerely,
Danny C. West
