I ran across this article out of the Tuscaloosa News. About a confederate veteran William Riley Moore that has finally got a grave marker. The grave was previously marked with just a fieldstone, but through the efforts of a great-great-daughter there is now an official marker.

This article raised my interest because the ancestor was born in North Carolina and lived in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee before moving south. It got my curiousity up because I have a family named Moore in my family tree with a son named Riley (father William) that would have been born about the same time frame, in the same location. They also moved to Tennessee for a while. We have no further information on Riley. Interesting
