Name of Ancestor: Frink, Frinke, Frinck
Query: Hello! Can you help me? I need to find proof of immigration or settlement of any Frink, Frynke, Frincke, or Frinck into Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, *prior* to 1668. It is probable that the departure was from England. Clues should be found in Brixton, Devonshire, England, not far from Plymouth. Another clue is a manor named "Cofflete". A will was located in Exeter. It is believed information could be found in the central repository of records in Somerset House, London, England. The bottom line: A man named Frink was a passenger from England to America( Prior to 1668). The ship's port of entry was Wilmington North Carolina. Can you *please* help me prove this? Thank you very much for your help. sincerely, Kenneth Frink kenf@treco.net

Name of Ancestor: John FREEMAN Jr.
Query: I am looking for information on my FREEMAN ancestors in North Carolina. Most were/are from the Madison County area. I know that John FREEMAN Jr. b. 1718 in Chowan Precint, Albermale, NC. m. Sarah WINBORNE and had six children. One of which was Aaron FREEMAN born in 1745 in Chowan County. He married Mary BENTLEY on December 17, 1769 and they had 11 children and lived in Rowan County for some time. He was granted a tavern's license on May 3, 1774 for a tavern located in the forks of Yadkin River. They then moved to Iredall County and were in the census there in 1790 and 1800. In 1810 he appears in the Buncombe County census. No will has been found for either of them to my knowledge, but they are buried in unmarked graves at the Freeman Gap Cemetary. Next is Thomas FREEMAN born 1777 in Iredall County. Married Mary Elizabeth BALL in 1800 and moved to Buncombe County. They had 13 children. One of which was Aaron Pinkey FREEMAN born 1812 in Buncombe County. Married Tempe' PAYNE about 1834. They had 11 children. Robert M. FREEMAN born Nov. 28, 1839 in Little Pine Creek, Old Buncombe County. Married Martha K. WILSON on Nov. 14, 1865. They had 12 children. One of which was my great grandfather Branson Freeman born August 15, 1871 in Madison County and had a twin brother named Anson. He is in the 1880 census at age 11 and left North Carolina and went into hiding after "taking the blame" for the shooting of his cousin, Pinkey. Branson (Brant) then moved to Bay, Arkansas and assumed the alias, John Wilson. Any information anyone might have that would be relevant to these family lines would be very helpful. I am intersted in any information on any of them or any family members that still are living there in North Carolina. So please let me know if you can help me. Thank you, LeVonda Vickery
