My ancestor, Dixon Harp, was born in NC around 1763, give or take a few years either way. he married Celia Edmondson in GA She was b. in South Carolina. Query: Joseph Hammon b.1753 in VA; m.Martha Landrum abt 1777 in Lunenburg Co,VA; RevWar service as Pvt, VA line; rec'd pension in Surry Co,NC; shown in census there from 1790/1800; died in Surry Co,NC in April 1829. Children per pension papers: James Hammon; William Hammon b.1787 in NC, marr. in Surry Co,NC 30 Dec 1813 to Eve Collins; Elizabeth Hammon said to have married a Bryant; Martha or Polly Hammon who married John Collins, possibly brother of Eve, and later moved with widowed mother Martha Landrum Hammon to Monroe Co,IN where Martha Hammon died after 1845 & before 1850. William & Eve Collins Hammon moved in 1814 to TN; by 1850 lived in Lafayette Co,MS; by 1860 in Hempstead Co,AR. Their younger children are shown with them in 1850 MS census; older children are thought to include George W. Hammon b.1814/15 in TN; Jasper Sanford Hammon b.1819 in Davidson Co,TN. George & Jasper were living with their families in Lincoln Co,TN in 1850. Jasper & family moved west to Hempstead Co,AR by 1853. Jasper was living in Missouri Twp, Hempstead Co,AR in 1860 census...a few households from William & Eve Collins Hammon, youngest son Allen & recently marr. son William Joseph Hammon. At least one of Eve Collins Hammon's brothers followed the Hammons to TN; Joseph Collins was living next door to them in 1850 Lafayette Co,MS census. Name of Ancestor: Stephen Hollingsworth
Query: Looking for any info about descendants. I need names, dates etc. I know Stephen was born in Duplin County, NC on 9/3/1794, married Elizabeth Colwell and has 6 children. William Wright 1825,John Henry1826 Stephen Thomas 1828 Catherine Margaret Anne, Elizabeth Jane all born in NC. My special interest is John Henry. After mid 1830's Stephen moved to Alabama and bought 40 acres of land in Tallapoosa County. Any info on ancestors or descendants appreciated.
