Name of Ancestor: john james
Query: am looking for proof of birth of John James possibly born in N. Carolina,
1800-1803. He then moved to Amite,Mississippi,Married Margaret A. D. Graves, Jan 1829.
Then later moved to Louisiana, where he died in 1863. Any help on this would be greatly
appreciated.

Name of Ancestor: William Johnson
Query: William JOHNSON was born in 1749 in Virginia. He was the son of Gideon and
Ursula (ALLEN) JOHNSON. The family moved south about 75 miles to an area that would later
be known as Guilford County, North Carolina. The period from 1765 to 1775 was one of
unrest, social upheaval, and violence in North Carolina. This is where the JOHNSONs were
living at the time of the American Revolutionary War. William was one of five brothers who
fought in the War serving as a private in the North Carolina troops. His brother, Abner,
volunteered in October 1777 in Guilford County under Captain John NELSON and became a
sergeant. During these times of conflict with the British, William JOHNSON married Sarah
McCLARAN of Dan River, North Carolina. They had two sons, Alexander and William A. I would
appreciate any information on these families.

Query: Looking for info on parents of William Crunk Jennings. b.3-12-1762 d.5-1-1839
Married Nancy Gates b. 5-2-1771/d. 9-15-1824. Lived in Rockingham, Co. Some say he was a
native of the county --others say he was from VA. His mother was widowed at an early age
and married a "Scales". William grew up with a large number of Scales
half-bro/sis's. He ended up in Maury Co., TN., from which I am descended. Also appears to
be associated with the Joyce line from that area. Any clues, please.
