Query: I am looking for William Nance b. May 22, 1755 in Virginia. He later moved to
Wilkes Co., NC where he died in 1826. His father was Richard Nance who also was born in

Name of Ancestor: Newcomb, Joseph
Query: Dear readers, I am looking for information concerning a Joseph Newcomb (born in
Ireland in 1767) and came to North Carolina in 1785. I am trying to find who his parents
were and where he was born in Ireland. I do know that he moved west to Tennessee and
eventually died in Livingston county, Kentucky. But in North Carolina, my educated guess
is that he lived in Rockingham county. I would hope that someone out there could help me

Name of Ancestor: Noble, William
Query: Lived in Anson/Montgomery Co. during 1790 census. My branch of Noble ends with
him. I would like to find out if he is the immigrant or if there was another Noble of my
family before him. We do know that our immigrant was a political prisoner in Ireland and
escaped to the colonies but was the ship going directly for the Carolina's or further up
the coast? We do not know his wifes name but he had five sons. They are ...William Noble
