ADONIJAH McDaniel's from Jones County---1850 TO 1900
Adonijah Mctodaniel lived in Trenton Township and according to his schedules he owned slaves,two MULATTOS FEMALES SLAVES, ONE BORN. One of these Mulatto female I feel is Jane Mcdaniel, aka Jane Williams, and the mother of my grandfather Robert Holt Brown of Jones County.
A review of FREEDMEN'S BANK RECORDS, 1865-1871, February 21, 1871 interview of Harriett Williams, she stated she was born in Jones County.
Light Complexion, stated she would be 28 in May (year of birth 1843), Her mother name AMY HILL (Husband Henry Hill, Father ADONIJAH MCDANIEL-"WHITE",,,,SISTER JANE(husband Oliver WILLIAMS); 1/2 sisters, Matilda Hill, Virginia Hill, Caroline, Sallie, Lizzie; 1/2 brothers Theodore or Pete Hill, Shade Hill,Hubbard Hill, Robert,Godfrey and Hensy
My great grandmother was Jane Mcdaniel, married Oliver Williams and was married to him in 1870 census, and was living in Trenton,Jones Co.,NC,,The 1880,1900, list Jane Williams in Trenton as a Mulatto and widow,and I also found in the 1900 or 1910, my grandfather ROBERT HOLT BROWN is in the same household with his father Peter Brown.
Jane Mcdaniel is found in the Hatiti Cemetery next to Pete Brown.
