I'm searching for the parents of my G Grandmother - Amanda Jane "Maudy" Gowan Hunter. She was born in South Carolina in 1857 and married my G Grandfather Thomas Jackson Hunter in 1876 in Madison County, NC. They lived in Bull Creek, Madison county, NC. I've searched everywhere I know and can't find the actual county or town in South Carolina she came from. I've heard it was York, SC and a few more but no one seems to know for sure. I believe her family must have moved to Madison county, NC but I can't find her listed on any Gowan family Census anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
